I have just been selected for the Clinton global initiative – university 2018 a program for emerging leaders in universities worldwide. This year’s program will take place in Chicago and I need to secure financial aid for my participation in the program where I will be participating in a social venture challenge for my project that aims to improve hands-on science & technology education in Nigeria.
FINANCIAL AID TO ATTEND CGI-U 2018
Days to go
The Clinton Global Initiative – University was launched by President Bill Clinton in 2007 to engage the next generation of leaders on college campuses around the world (http://www.clintonfoundation.org/clinton-global-initiative/meetings/cgi-university
Each year, CGI U hosts a meeting where students, university representatives, topic experts, and celebrities come together to discuss and develop innovative solutions to pressing global challenges. The meeting will bring together more than 1,000 students to make a difference in CGI U’s five focus areas: Education, Environment and Climate Change, Peace and Human Rights, Poverty Alleviation, and Public Health.
This year, CGI U 2018 will take place at the University of Chicago
from October 19-21, 2018. But CGI U is more than just an event. It is a growing community of young leaders who don’t just discuss global challenges—they take real, concrete steps toward solving them. Throughout the year, and as a prerequisite of attending the CGI U meeting, students develop their own Commitments to Action: new, specific, and measurable initiatives that address pressing challenges on campus, in local communities, or around the world.
I have been selected for the program this year without funding and I will require donations to cover my travel and lodging costs. The goal of my Commitment to Action is to improve hands-on science & technology education in Nigeria by providing students with necessary research skills.
